“A timeless space for art and writing. In Ashfield, I have found something unexpected:
the lyrical present.”
- Kimberly Chang
Wellspring House is located in Ashfield, Massachusetts, an unspoiled New England village, set in the hills east of the Berkshire Mountains. Ashfield lacks all the emblems of suburban sprawl – no strip malls, no chain stores, no housing developments. In less than ten minutes, one can walk to Ashfield Lake for a swim in late spring and summer or jog out into the neighboring farm country. In addition to the lake, the town park has tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground and ball fields. Ashfield is a four hour drive from New York City, a two and a half hour drive from Boston, and only 35 minutes away from the Amherst – Northampton arts scene.
